The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially initiated the process for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2026. As per the short notice released under Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) 09/2025, the recruitment drive aims to fill approximately 22,000 vacancies across various Zonal Railways in India. Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the RRB Group D 2026 recruitment, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) from a recognized board. Alternatively, candidates with an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) are also eligible to apply for specific technical categories.

2. Age Limit (As of January 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 33–36 Years (Subject to final notification)
• Note: Age relaxation is provided to reserved categories (OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, etc.) as per government norms.

Vacancy Details and Salary

The 22,000 vacancies include various roles such as Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman, Assistant (Workshop), and Assistant (S&T).

• Pay Level: Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Basic Pay: ₹18,000 per month.
• Total Salary: After adding allowances like DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance, the in-hand salary typically ranges between ₹22,500 and ₹25,380 per month.

Selection Process

The recruitment process for RRB Group D consists of four main stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): An objective-type exam covering Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness.
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates must perform tasks like carrying weight and running within a specified time.
3. Document Verification (DV): Verification of original educational and identity documents.
4. Medical Examination: A health checkup to ensure candidates meet the physical standards required for the post.

How to Apply for RRB Group D 2026

1. Visit the official regional RRB website or rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Register using your mobile number and email ID.
3. Fill out the application form for CEN 09/2025.
4. Upload the required documents (Photograph, Signature, 10th/ITI Certificate).
5. Pay the application fee (₹500 for General/OBC; ₹250 for SC/ST/Female/Ex-SM).

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2026 (CBT)

The first stage is the Computer-Based Test (CBT). It is an objective-type exam consisting of 100 questions to be solved in 90 minutes.

Important Note: There is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.

Subject-Wise Syllabus (10th Standard Level)

The syllabus for RRB Group D is based on the CBSE 10th-grade curriculum. Here are the high-weightage topics you must cover:

1. Mathematics

• Number System: BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM & HCF.
• Arithmetic: Ratio & Proportion, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest.
• Time & Work: Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Distance, Trains.
• Advanced Math: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Elementary Statistics.

2. General Intelligence & Reasoning

• Logical: Analogies, Syllogism, Venn Diagrams, and Data Interpretation.
• Analytical: Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Blood Relations, and Jumbling.
• Visual: Series (Number & Alphabet), Directions, and Statement-Arguments.

3. General Science

• Physics: Units, Motion, Work-Energy, Gravity, and Electricity.
• Chemistry: Periodic Table, Chemical Reactions, Acids & Bases.
• Life Sciences: Human Anatomy, Plant Kingdom, and Cell Biology.

4. General Awareness

• Current Affairs: Sports, Science & Tech, Awards, and Appointments (Last 12 months).
• Static GK: Indian History, Geography, Economics, and Indian Constitution.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards

After clearing the CBT, candidates must pass the PET. This stage is qualifying in nature (no marks added to merit).

• Male Candidates: * Lift and carry 35 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes (without putting it down).
• Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
• Female Candidates:
• Lift and carry 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes.
• Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes 40 seconds.
